About Sharon Carius
Meet Sharon Carius
Clinical Nutritionist & certified Metabolic Balance® Practitioner, Brisbane
Sharon works with women navigating PCOS (now known as PMOS), insulin resistance, and perimenopause - the areas where metabolic and hormonal health intersect, and where standard advice most often falls short.
Her focus is singular: helping women understand what's actually driving their symptoms, and addressing it through nutrition matched to their individual biochemistry - not generic diets or quick fixes.
A clinical approach
Grounded in your biology, not the average
There is no single right way to eat, because no two women's bodies respond to food the same way.
Rather than applying a template, Sharon's work begins with a detailed picture of each woman's individual metabolic and biochemical state - looking well beyond the standard blood markers most testing stops at - and builds a personalised nutrition plan around what that picture reveals.
The goal is to identify the specific foods that calm each woman's insulin response, reduce inflammation, and support her metabolism, so the underlying drivers of her symptoms are addressed rather than managed one at a time. It's the foundation of the Metabolic Balance® programme she practises - and the reason she sees results in women who've tried everything else.
Why this work is personal
Food is the most powerful cure I know
Sharon's passion for metabolic health isn't only professional - it grew out of her own experience. She spent years navigating her own health challenges, including asthma, high blood pressure, and the weight changes of the menopausal transition. Like many women, she found conventional advice and trend-led diets didn't work for her.
It wasn't until she stopped following generic approaches and started looking at her own blood chemistry - understanding what her individual body actually needed - that she found the path that worked. That experience shapes how she practises today: she understands, first-hand, the frustration of doing everything "right" and seeing nothing change.
"I help women understand their body - properly. Not through trends, but through their own biology."

What Sharon helps with
Three connected areas of metabolic health
Across all three, the through-line is the same: these are fundamentally metabolic conditions, and personalised nutrition is the most powerful lever for improving them.
PCOS / PMOS
Addressing the insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction that drive most symptoms - rather than managing symptoms in isolation.
Insulin Resistance
Including the "silent" insulin resistance standard testing routinely misses, and its effects on weight, energy, and long-term health.
Perimenopause
The metabolic shifts of midlife - weight-loss resistance, fatigue, and the changes to blood sugar and body composition that begin in your 40s.
